What a total douchebag the landlord is. CBGB's is the Temple of Jerusalem to classic rock fans. It's really quite a sad day - part of rock n roll is dying. |

I guess nobody cares about a rock icon.... so be it. I thought at least Swiss would care, being a realtor and all.

haha... I do care sorta! Though I'm not particularly a fan of the early punk era, (though I do like a few of the Ramone's stuff) I love bluegrass which they were also popular for bringing to the otherwise clueless NYers of the time.
I have heard that CBGB was going down about a year ago in New York. I visited the notorious location around that same time because I would hate to have never gotten the chance to do so after it's gone. Despite its history, CBGB has become a fad for all the hipsters now -- which I really don't like, so I am not going to fake as if I'm heartbroken over this news. The article is right, the lease is up and there's really nothing they can do about it. Sucks for them.
