How far has Britney fallen? In addition to bouncing in and out of rehab and shaving her head, today she attacked a car with a large green umbrella outside K-Fed's apartment.
The umbrella attack was apparently a rage over estranged husband Kevin Federline's refusal to see her.
Disturbing new pictures are evidence of just how deeply troubled fallen pop star Britney Spears has become.

As her estranged husband Kevin Federline refuses to see her at his Los Angeles apartment, Spears exploded in an violent, uncontrollable rage.

Wild-eyed and without the blond bobbed wig she's been wearing since she shaved all her hair off, Spears' frustration erupted at the paparazzi who've been dogging her every move since she checked out of rehab for the second time in one week.

As her frightened mother sat nearby in a waiting car, Spears lashed out at an empty car, repeatedly beating the doors and windows with a furled umbrella.

A stunned photographer captured the scene that took place on a quiet street just after 8:45 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Witnessing such an emotional outburst, it was hard to imagine that this was the same person who just a few short years ago was America's sweetheart, capturing the world's heart with her bubblegum music and looks.

This public display of anger and exasperation was yet another sad chapter in a tumultuous week that started with the pop singer shaving her head, then bouncing in and out of rehab.

Spears lost control outside Federline's house after he threatened an emergency custody hearing for their two sons, Sean Preston, 17 months old, and Jayden James, 5 months.

The singer had had a chaotic day, first meeting with a lawyer, then looking at an available apartment - all the time clutching her dog, Bit Bit, for comfort. When Federline refused to let Spears see their kids, the former teen queen, clad in only gym shorts, sneakers, a sweatshirt and a string of pearls, had a meltdown.

After watching the scene in horror, her concerned mother Lynne swooped into action. By 10:45 p.m., with the help of a bodyguard, Lynne had persuaded her dejected daughter to return to Promises rehab facility in Malibu.

According to Federline's lawyer Mark Kaplan, no future custody hearings are scheduled and friends of Federline tell the Daily News he won't give up on the fight to save his kids from his erratic ex. As long as Spears is getting treatment he won't pursue further legal action.

It was unclear whether Spears ever spoke to Federline before heading back into rehab Wednesday night, or whether the information was conveyed through representatives.

It was another confrontation with Federline, last Friday night, that is being cited as the reason Spears sped to a Tarzana hair salon to shave her head. Federline reportedly tried to stage an intervention and told her he would drug-test her hair if she didn't seek help.

Following that, Spears spent a lost weekend without her children, lounging solo, poolside at the Mondrian in L.A. wearing the short blond wig.

While Spears once again attempts the required 30-45 days in rehab, her children will be in the joint custody of her mother and Federline, who have put their differences aside for the sake of Spears' babies.
